30 years of Misselijk Fest. Why is there so damn little melodic punk rock in the style of The Undertones, Buzzcocks, and The Vibrators, the men of Misselijk wondered thirty years ago from behind their half liters of Schneider Weisse in Kafee België. And although the world didn't ask for it, they went to work themselves. Armed with more bravado than talent and more boasting than musical ingenuity, they made a flying start in Tivoli Oudegracht. Three decades later, the band can look back on a turbulent history, with one album, two EPs, and performances in Germany, Czech Republic, Bosnia, Serbia, and Croatia as their greatest achievements. In dB's, Misselijk celebrates its thirtieth anniversary with friendly noise bands and DJs, but also with musical contributions from ex-members of their old bands (The Nozems, The Vendettas, The Riddlers, The Mighty Jackals, and Tunnelbirds). That promises to be an indispensable evening of nostalgia for the deaf and hard of hearing. Special guest is the American The Rumours, two power ladies and a drummer who bring heavy rock and punk rock to an explosive boiling point. In their homeland, they have already played support tours for Nekromantix, Koffin Kats, Goddamn Gallows, and Supersuckers. The star of these ladies is rising, not least because of their exhilarating live shows.
