Formed in 2025 in Liverpool, United Kingdom, newhvn blends rock, alternative rock, and grunge into a genre-defying sound . Emerging from the remnants of the post-rock instrumental band A Burial at Sea , the newhvn project has emerged with a unique blend of their post-rock roots and influences from shoegaze and post-hardcore.

After years of touring worldwide and releasing two albums as their previous project, A Burial at Sea , newhvn has a wealth of experience. They've built a loyal fanbase in Ireland, the UK, Europe, and Asia, sharing the stage with bands like And So I Watch You From Afar , The Ocean , and This Will Destroy You . They've also performed at festivals such as ArcTanGent (UK), Post in Paris (FR), Bergmal (SW), and Dunk! (BE).

Wanting to break away from their post-rock sound, the remaining members of A Burial at Sea retreated to Black Bay Studios on Scotland's Isle of Lewis, and thus newhvn was born. Inspired by artists like Pinegrove and Cloakroom , and combined with their post-rock background, a ten-track collection emerged, scheduled for release in 2026.
