AMANDA SHIRES
Grammy Award winner with wonderful country songs gives an intimate performance

Americana fans take note! Singer-songwriter Amanda Shires is coming for the first time to LantarenVenster for a concert. The American singer, Grammy Award winner and multi-instrumentalist began at the age of 15 as a fiddle player with the legendary Texas Playboys.

Since then she has worked with greats such as John Prine, Neal Casal, Rod Picott, Todd Snider and Justin Townes Earle. She also played in the band of her ex-husband, Jason Isbell's 400 Unit, and founded The Highwomen, an all-women country supergroup with Maren Morris, Natalie Hemby and Brandi Carlile.

She received much praise for her album Take It Like A Man (2022). This album was written and recorded during the lockdown and contains relentlessly honest songs about Amanda's life as a woman in a turbulent period. Her new album Nobody's Girl was released in September 2025.
