ARSE burst out of the suburbs of Sydney in 2017 and has been unstoppable ever since. With releases like Primitive Species, Safe Word, Kaputt, and a split with the explosive duo Party Dozen, the band has steadily built a reputation within the underground. Through their own label Grupo, they leave a small but essential mark on the Australian punk scene. Their uncompromising sound—somewhere between the raw energy of early hardcore and the unpredictability of contemporary noise—has brought them to the stage alongside names like Amyl and The Sniffers, Cosmic Psychos, and Civic, both in Australia and Europe.
With screeching guitars, sledgehammer rhythms, and a brooding production by band member Jonathan Boulet, ARSE sounds like a group constantly on the verge of exploding. Their music channels everyday frustrations into an all-consuming outburst of sound, without ever sacrificing hooks or urgency. The result is a band that is as aggressive as it is compelling – raw, direct, and unmistakably alive.
