Baskery

A warm-blooded mix of Americana, country, folk, and blues from the vast plains of… Sweden!? You’d swear you were hearing three sisters from the States at work here, but nothing could be further from the truth. Okay, Greta, Stella, and Sunniva Bondesson may come from the Far North, but their hearts lie somewhere on the prairie of the Deep South. And how could it be otherwise, when you grow up on a strict diet of folk and roots music.

Throw in some heavenly harmonies, a razor-sharp punk edge, and the synergy of three sisters, and you come pretty close to the infectious sound of Baskery. Mud-country, banjo punk, fierce folk, Nordicana… Pick the nicest name for yourself. But whatever you call their music, it has been turning the biggest stages worldwide upside down for over twenty years. From opening acts for Robbie Williams and Glary Glark Jr. to multiple world tours and shows at Glastonbury, Lowlands, and Zwarte Cross – everywhere they made it crystal clear: the Bondesson sisters are the Queens of banjo punk.
