Benefiets – Modern Figure + Cycles + Pretty//Ugly

Hey, just like every year we're doing a little fundraiser, just like every year we're late again for our official 'anniversary', but unlike every year, this year we're doing it for something specific: Kronkel ! Together with the lovelies from Pretty Ugly & Bandgurl666 , we came up with the idea to organize a festival. Fun! But expensive! That 's fine, but because every little bit helps and because it 's also veeeery fun; Benefit !

Put on your tightest cycling outfit, put on a helmet, fill up your water bottle, and come dance with us, Modern Figure , Luka Schuurman , and DJ Pretty Ugly !

Admission is by donation, of course; the suggestion is €7!

Modern
Figure is a Dutch new wave band with a melancholic heart. The combination of New Wave with the urgency of post-punk creates an atmosphere where vulnerability and energy come together. The band has already released two singles and is working towards their debut EP.

Luka Schuurman & Cycles
“On the bike, on the bike, that’s when I sometimes come up with an idea.” Dick Bruna sang it already: a bike ride offers space for contemplation. It is not
entirely surprising, then, that Luka Schuurman’s calming soundscapes have now become the canvas for the bicycle as a musical instrument. In 'Cycles', Schuurman explores the rhythms that arise from starting a bicycle and from the soundscape of the city of Amsterdam. In an attempt to reinvent the wheel, Schuurman runs with cyclical rhythms and metallic percussion sounds, which are manipulated with effects and synthesizers.

Pretty//Ugly
In addition to organizing shows, Pretty//Ugly occasionally performs as a DJ. With these outbursts, they have already played at Guerilla Toss,
Model/Actriz, Promis3, VMO, the Melkweg, and multiple times at Murf Murw. Expect a set with unexpected twists, a punk attitude, and hyperenergy.
