Benjamin Ankomah, better known as Bnnyhunna, is a Ghanaian artist from Amsterdam Southeast. Music became his outlet during a challenging youth, during which he learned to play piano, drums and guitar in church. His sound is influenced by legends such as Fela Kuti, Yussef Dayes and Kendrick Lamar. After secondary school he began his music career and worked together with artists such as Braxton Cook, Rimon, Jose James, Gaidaa, Arp Frique and Akwasi.

Bnnyhunna makes a mix of jazz, hiphop, r&b and afro and reflects his West-African background. His debut EP 'SINTHA' (2021) led to sold-out shows and performances at major festivals such as North Sea Jazz, Lowlands and Down The Rabbit Hole. He has been a regular at Super-Sonic Jazz for years and can regularly be found at the festival and the jams.

For his debut album 'Echoes of a Prayer' he earlier this year received an Edison, which definitively confirmed his place in the Dutch music scene. On Sunday 12 April the Amsterdammer returns to Tolhuistuin for a promising performance full of intimacy, rhythm and soul.
