Buck Meek comes from Wimberley, Texas, and gained worldwide fame as the guitarist of Big Thief. In his solo work, he emerges as a quirky songwriter, blending folk and alt-country with a sense of mysticism and refined intimacy. His songs sound both earthly and dreamy, rooted in the familiar yet always searching for something greater. With 'Haunted Mountain,' Meek presents a new sound. The album was created during travels through mountainous regions in Portugal, Greece, Switzerland, and California, and was recorded in the border region of Texas. The songs explore love in all its forms: romantic, friendly, familial, and spiritual. The work is further enriched by collaborations with Jolie Holland and the legacy of Judee Sill.
