The eccentric Australian musician/singer CW Stoneking sounds "like he's 600 years old," according to Tom Waits, one of his admirers. In reality, CW Stoneking was born in 1974, but his music takes you back to the New Orleans of the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s, the era of calypso and ragtime blues. It all sounds completely natural—helped by the fact that CW Stoneking's voice and phrasing evoke memories of Louis Armstrong. His latest album, Gon' Boogaloo, dates back to 2014, but contains so much depth that it will last at least 600 years!
