Cas Heim

In Paradiso - Upstairs Room

On Friday 19 June Cas Heim released his second EP in our Upstairs Room. After his debut EP 'One Step Away', which originated during his time in New York, Cas takes a next step with his second record. His new music takes you on a road trip through the seasons: warm sounds, personal lyrics and carefully built arrangements together form an immersive experience. For the Utrecht-based drummer, singer and songwriter it's all about musicality. The connection between rhythm, harmony, melody and lyrics is something he continuously seeks in his playing and compositions. In his thoughts Cas visits many different places and chooses special moments to write about, true or fictional. With his music he invites the listener to take part in that thought-journey. His songs are pop-oriented but built with jazz and soul sounds. Those sounds are derived from the various CDs that his parents played every summer in the car, as well as from the concerts he attends by contemporary artists such as Madison Cunningham and Ruben Hein.
