Oh mama! With the flu-season in full swing throughout the country, we deemed
it no more than logical to provide ya’ll with another SICK banger! These two
bands will show ya that even though rock&roll might not be dead (yet), it sure
as hell is SICK! But let’s be real: if this is what being SICK sounds like,
baby, I don’t ever wanna be better!

Sick Thoughts (USA)
If you don't know Sick Thoughts, you don't know punk. The band is the mighty
Drew Owen: Baltimore born and bred, he then up and left... moved to the swamps
of New Orleans while still a teenager. The general consensus was he'd soon be
seen hitting up tourists for money on Bourbon Street with a dog on a rope, but
somehow he got hooked up with the best (or worst?) folks in the city and kept
making great music. That, and the fact that 40 ounce bottles just bounce off
his head, kept him alive. His third ever gig was opening for garage rock
legends the Oblivions, who along with Jay Reatard and bands like the Carbonas
are noticeable influences on his sound. From the outset, Sick Thoughts became
known for its raw intensity and prolific output. Drew Owen has long since
proven himself as one of the best songwriters of die-hard, old school
rock‘n’roll!

The Protos
Primitive garage punk trio from Amsterdam with members of The Covids,
Achterlicht and Burlers: raw, lo-fi and high energy punk rock with two
guitars, a drum kit and a scream. It’s loud, in your face and stupid-perfect
punk!

As we all know Thursdays are the new Fridays, so we’ll see ya in the pit!!
