For seventeen years, Citizen has been making emo, post-hardcore, alternative rock, and indie rock that hits hard, without ever making the same record twice. That constant movement earned them tours with Turnover, Basement, and The Story So Far, among others, and an audience that has grown with every phase. With the new album 'Halcyon Blues', they bring together lines from their entire catalog. The emotion behind early work like 'Youth' shines through, while the band simultaneously sounds bigger, more melodic, and more self-assured than ever. On Wednesday, November 4, 2026, they will be at Patronaat!

The band broke through with 'Youth', but it soon became clear that Citizen would not be a repetition exercise. On 'Everybody Is Going to Heaven', they explored sharpness and darkness, while 'As You Please' and 'Life In Your Glass World' gave more space to melody, groove, and hooks. The new album 'Halcyon Blues' is seen as a summary of everything that came before.

Modern Color
Modern Color hails from Los Angeles and operates at the intersection of shoegaze, post-hardcore, and alternative. Since their start in the mid-2010s, the band has been steadily working on a recognizable sound, with releases like 'Time Slips' and 'From The Leaves Of Your Garden' serving as clear building blocks.

The band combines layered guitars and echoing vocals with tight, sometimes heavy rhythms. Influences from 90s alternative and shoegaze are audible, but Modern Color keeps it compact and purposeful. No loose mood tracks, but songs that build towards something.
