The band broke through with 'Youth', but it soon became clear that Citizen would not be a repetition exercise. On 'Everybody Is Going to Heaven', they explored sharpness and darkness, while 'As You Please' and 'Life In Your Glass World' gave more space to melody, groove, and hooks.
