Cyberia Reunion + Rotersand
Dancing among the shadows to the best new wave, electro, and goth
Cyberia Reunion is back! Last year, the Netherlands' premier goth/wave event made its comeback at De Helling to show that the scene is alive and kicking. So, it is high time for the reunion of the reunion. The recipe is familiar: dancing all night long in pitch darkness to the best bands, DJs, and performances the dark underground has to offer. This time featuring German wave icons Rotersand, Rotterdam EBM powerhouse Machine Command, our resident DJs XXX, DJ SPUD & RVR, and the dancers of viXXXen.
ROTERSAND
They have been around for nearly a quarter of a century, the German underground icons Rotersand. In 2002, the duo put themselves on the map as one of the faces of the emerging futurepop movement. But it soon became clear that they had much more to offer. With their emotional mix of darkwave, techno, industrial, and pop, they have been a fixture in the scene for years. A bombastic sound, intimate and danceable at the same time, with which they drag De Helling into the deep darkness.
MACHINE COMMAND
Rotterdam-based Machine Command knows its classics. This duo clearly draws inspiration from the dark side of Nitzer Ebb, Portion Control, and Spetsnaz, keeping the old-school EBM sound alive. And they do so at a killer pace. With two albums and two EPs in the past two years, they are the embodiment of the Rotterdam no-nonsense, no-nonsense mentality. More than enough material, then, to make our dance floor sweat like it's 1983.
DJ XXX, DJ SPUD, and DJ RVR.
No Cyberia without DJ XXX! Once again, this experienced DJ simply cannot be missing from our lineup. As the patriarch of the Utrecht goth scene, he has made De Helling burst at the seams countless times. Tonight, he is joined by DJ SPUD, the Momentum veteran and Dance in the Underdark resident DJ. DJ RVR, Momentum's new talent, completes the trio. Together, they combine the best of all genres ending in -wave and unleash a tidal wave of black-rimmed euphoria upon the dance floor.
