The folk quartet DakhaBrakha was formed in 2004 at the Kyiv Center of Contemporary Art 'DAKH' by theater director Vladyslav Troitskyi. After experimenting with Ukrainian folk music, the band added different rhythms to their music. Accompanied by Indian, Arabic, African and Australian traditional instruments, the quartet's powerful and uncompromising vocal range creates a sound rooted in Ukrainian culture. In May, the group will return to Melkweg for a performance in the MAX!
