Dave Hause + Sincere Engineer

Punk troubadour keeps reinventing himself

De Helling and TivoliVredenburg present: Dave Hause, an experienced punk retiree from Philly, reborn as a singer-songwriter who wears his heart on his sleeve.

The Loved Ones, Paint It Black, The Falcon: just a few influential punk rock bands Hause was the face of. But after some eighteen years of thrashing the hardcore and punk scene in his hometown of Philadelphia, he decided it was time for something new. Hause said goodbye to power chords, started a solo career, and changed course. In search of his rootsy, er… roots.

But the punk spirit never completely disappeared from his sound. Over the years, his sound evolved into a kind of warm-blooded Heartland rock with a punky, ragged edge. Essential listening for anyone who loves The Gaslight Anthem, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, and long car rides.

SUPPORT: SINCERE ENGINEER

Support act Sincere Engineer also operates at the intersection of punk and singer-songwriter. What once started at the open mic nights and dive bars of Chicago rapidly grew into opening for big names like Hot Mulligan, Alkaline Trio, The Menzingers, and Joyce Manor. The secret of frontwoman Deanna Belos and her bandmates? A prickly combination of emo-weltschmerz, warm folk, and a rattling DIY spirit. Oh, and of course, those catchy choruses that you can only scream along to at the top of your lungs.
