Drugdealer is the project of Michael Collins, a veteran of the psychedelic scene from L.A., who with this alter ego exchanged the trippy sound for sunny soft rock in the style of the 1970s Laurel Canyon era. His music breathes the atmosphere of Steely Dan and Harry Nilsson and is full of warm, soulful melodies and guest contributions from, among others, Weyes Blood, Ariel Pink, and Kate Bollinger. After previous projects such as Run DMT and Salvia Plath, Collins released three albums with Drugdealer, of which 'Hiding in Plain Sight' is the most ambitious and versatile, with contributions from various musical friends.
