Resonator guitar and banjo form the beating heart of DUG. The duo breathes both American mountains and Irish hills and borrows traditions from folk troubadours on both sides of the ocean. With limited instrumentation DUG manages to create a dynamic world. Songs like 'Jubilee' and 'Wheel of Fortune' from the debut album 'Have At It!' sound light and lively. As if you have one foot in a Louisiana swamp and the other foot in a pub in Galway. Textually speaking, the music of BUG spreads an infectious warmth and humor. But there are also allusions to dark moments; longing and melancholy, to lessons learned the hard way.
