Guitarist Ed Verhoeff has played with diverse musicians and groups, including Hein van de Geyn, John Abercrombie, Izaline Calister, and the Metropole Orchestra. With his new group, Kind Folk, the guitarist embraces the heavy groove and has assembled the perfect rhythm section with Mark Haanstra on bass and Yoràn Vroom on drums. Kind Folk's music is refined yet accessible, with close-knit interplay and a solid, swinging foundation.
According to Gitarist magazine, Ed Verhoeff possesses "phenomenal technique, a beautiful sound, and harmonic depth." With Kind Folk, he combines his love of pop, jazz, and rock. Solid rhythms are combined with the musical depth we know from artists like the Pat Metheny Group. In Yoran Vroom—whose lineup includes Benjamin Herman and Cory Henry—he has one of the hardest-grooving drummers in his ranks.
