Filthy Folk Festival 2026

Uncompromising, raw and probably a bit too stubborn

On Saturday, March 21, 2026, Filthy Folk Festival returns to De Helling for a new edition packed with raw folk, unadulterated bluegrass, energetic Americana, and captivating live music. Following successful previous editions, the festival once again brings together three bands that effortlessly combine tradition and intensity with a contemporary live approach.

Noble Jacks (UK)
Powered by the fiddle, Noble Jacks deliver high-energy folk-Americana that’s both raw and captivating. Nominated for Live Act of the Year by the Americana Music Association UK in 2023, the band are renowned for their energetic live shows. Their albums, including What the Hammer and Last Of The Wild , capture the intensity of their performances and have garnered international airplay, support from BBC Introducing and Radio Caroline, and sold-out tours across the UK and Europe. With appearances at major festivals such as Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, and Bestival, as well as key European festivals, the band have firmly established themselves as crowd favorites and one of the most energetic live acts of their generation.

The Lonesome Malones
The Lonesome Malones bring traditional bluegrass to life with a fresh, energetic sound: sparkling mandolin, tight harmonies, virtuoso banjo, and a rhythm section that keeps the music grooving. Spontaneous jam sessions created a musical chemistry too strong to ignore, and they grew into a dedicated band with a full repertoire. They combine traditional pieces with their own work for an atmospheric, warm, and compelling performance that captures the essence of bluegrass while sounding surprisingly fresh—a band that exudes quality, connection, and a genuine love for the genre.

Trikosis
Trikosis operates at the intersection of folk, alternative roots, and experimental sounds. Their name refers to the Trikosis effect , an irresistible urge to dance that spreads through musicians and audiences. This international band from the Netherlands delivers music with unparalleled energy and original sounds, played on accordion, guitar, violin, darbuka, trumpet, bass drum, clarinet, washboards, and bass guitar. With a unique approach and a strong live performance, Trikosis creates a captivating atmosphere where tradition and innovation intersect, adding an adventurous touch to the Filthy Folk Festival program.

Baby Belushi
Baby Belushi is folk music with the tempo of punk and the energy of a wild bar. The band blends raw punk attitude, ska rhythms, and folk melodies, powered by a striking weapon: the violin. The result is a musical storm that sweeps you up, shakes you, and crawls straight into your veins. Intense, captivating, and explosive, with razor-sharp lyrics and furious rhythms that don't come to entertain, but strike like a sledgehammer. The performances are energetic and chaotic, never stopping the audience, and the narrative power of folk meets the unbridled pulse of punk.

Filthy Folk is the festival where no note is spared and every riff pierces your soul. The festival stands for genuine live music, an intimate setting, and bands that deliver their music with complete conviction. De Helling is the ideal backdrop for an evening where folk music comes together in all its raw, energetic, and captivating forms.
