Instrumental rock

Instrumental rock that refuses to be pinned down. Grails, the American band, has been grinding, experimenting, and surprising for over twenty years with instrumental rock that refuses to be pinned down. Their new album 'Miracle Music' is their most personal to date. On Saturday, March 7, at Patronaat, they will take you on a trip where post-rock, krautrock, and psychedelica come together. Support comes from Expensive $hit, the solo project of Paul Quattrone (drummer with Osees). He combines electronic drum pads, samplers, and a battery of effects with acoustic drums into a raw mix of rhythm and noise. Grails is known as one of the most idiosyncratic and adventurous instrumental rock bands. What started in the early '00s grew into a catalog in which every record sounds completely different: from the enchanting atmosphere of 'The Burden of Hope' and the dark power of 'Doomsdayer’s Holiday' to the cinematic grandeur of 'Deep Politics' and 'Anches En Maat'.
