Gruff Rhys

The name Gruff Rhys may not immediately ring a bell, but he is the frontman of the Welsh rock band Super Furry Animals, known for their indie hit Juxtapozed With U (2001). Since 2005 he has also pursued a solo career that can be characterized musically as idiosyncratic: Rhys’ palette ranges from folk through electronica to experimental pop. On 12 September 2025 his ninth solo album Dim Probs will be released, this time once again entirely sung in Welsh. First single Chwyn Chwyldroadol! has already been released; according to Google Translate the title means: 'Revolutionary Weed!'.
