Prog-rock, Heavy-metal

Adventure rock, that's what Hällas calls his music. And you can certainly say that. These five Swedes (with capes!) have one foot in the seventies and the other in the early Middle Ages. Their vintage blend of prog rock and heavy metal evokes tales of knights and castles.

The band takes its name from the heroic figure in their own music. Because—as befits any decent progressive rock band—Hällas doesn't just make records, but entire concept albums. With lyrical guitar work, inimitable time signatures, and ominous vocals, the band paints images of a fantasy world "where treacherous tyrants rule over lands on the brink of apocalypse, and where seers have acquired so much power that they can dictate both the past and the future."

And they're clearly not averse to a bit of social criticism. It's a bit like Tolkien had been a Swedish metalhead. If that doesn't lead to wild adventures, we don't know what would. So don your armor and dive into the magical universe of Hällas.
