"Scotland's king of the arcane mosh" – this fantastic nickname was awarded to Hellripper by Metal Hammer Magazine. And there's not a word of Scots in it. His intense blackened thrash metal is inspired by Toxic Holocaust, Venom, Darkthrone, covens, and the underworld – and transforms any venue into a medieval battlefield in seconds.
And this king reigns alone. You wouldn't think so, hearing all those hellish sounds simultaneously piercing your eardrums, but Hellripper is just one person. Like some kind of demonic Spinvis, he single-handedly crafts the most devastating compositions. Songs that once started as a kind of straightforward punk metal, but gradually became more interesting and complex. His latest album, Warlocks & Withered Hags, features eight-minute songs and conceptual lyrics about Scottish folklore. On April 6th, the Scottish king of the mysterious mosh pit in Utrecht will conquer you. So obey your new monarch and dive into that pit.
Hellripper isn't coming alone. Tonight, we've brought along a special guest and a support act from the vibrant international blackened thrash scene.
Schizophrenia : tonight's special guest. A devastating Belgian death metal prospect influenced by bands like Demolition Hammer, the old Sepultura, and Slayer (who wouldn't?).
SARCATOR : four Swedish young dogs from the fantastically named Trollhättan, who have traded their souls for a load of furious blackened thash metal.
