In Belgium, the band Het Zesde Metaal doesn't need to be introduced to anyone. With classics like Ploegsteert, Naar De Wuppe and Tid Van Ton , and acclaimed and award-winning albums like Nie Voe Kinders and Calais , the Flemish band around singer Wannes Cappelle has become an indispensable part of the music landscape.

Early 2024, the sixth album Het langste jaar was released , which, together with the previous album Skepsels, also meant the breakthrough of Het Zesde Metaal in the Netherlands. De Volkskrant gave the album Het langste jaar four stars: 'Their most beautiful album' and their club tour yielded sold-out venues in Amsterdam and Utrecht.

In the spring of 2026, frontman Wannes Cappelle will tour Dutch theaters, flanked by cellist Frans Grapperhaus. The duo will perform a rich selection from the oeuvre of Het Zesde Metaal with Even tussen ons .

Singer Wannes Cappelle also keeps his audience engaged between the songs with juicy stories and reflections that betray his past as a cabaret artist. In 2002 he won the press and audience award at the Belgian Humorology Competition.
