John Cooper Clarke
With his razor-sharp, satirical, political and above all animating poems that are recited with blazing speed, John Cooper Clarke quickly made a name for himself as a "punk poet" in the late seventies. John Cooper Clarke is a welcome guest on stage. He is invited for guest performances by, among others, Sex Pistols, Joy Division, Buzzcocks, The Fall, Elvis Costello and New Order. Between 1978 and 1983 John Cooper Clarke released five albums and various EPs and singles. His poems are musically supported by the band The Invisible Girls. JCC's long-awaited autobiography was published in 2020, named but his most famous poem 'I Wanna Be Yours'. In it he tells in the smallest details about his fascinating life in Manchester, the rise of punk and drug addictions.
