The six-piece Irish instrumental folk band Lúnasa (named after the Celtic harvest festival Lughnasadh) has become a leading name in the folk scene over its nearly thirty years of existence. This was hardly surprising, with top musicians like double bassist Trevor Hutchinson (bassist for The Waterboys) and uilleann pipe player Cillian Vallely, also featured on the Bruce Springsteen track "This Is Your Sword" (2014). On their most recent album, "Cas" (2018), Lúnasa invited guest vocalists for the first time, of whom Tim O'Brien (on "The Water Is Wise"), in particular, blends seamlessly with the band!
