The American singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams is among the greats of country rock, especially since her breakthrough with Car Wheels On A Gravel Road (1998), a downright perfect roots album. The singer has since won three Grammys and released many more albums, with highlights such as Essence (2001), World Without Tears (2003), and Good Souls Better Angels (2020). Williams is recovering from a stroke she suffered in 2020, but the biting lyrics on her new, sixteenth album World’s Gone Wrong (2025 – fully available on YouTube) show that she still has the holy fire!
