In the 1970s, the New York duo Suicide turned the music world upside down with their minimalist synths, hard rhythms, and intense, often confrontational performances. Lydia Lunch, known from the New York No Wave scene, and French artist Marc Hurtado are inspired by the idiosyncratic style of the legendary 1970s duo and will bring their tribute to Suicide to Slachthuis on Saturday, January 17th, in collaboration with Patronaat.

The innovative sound of Suicide—Alan Vega and Martin Rey—laid the foundation for much later punk and electronic music and influenced artists like Nick Cave, Nine Inch Nails, and LCD Soundsystem. Lunch and Hurtado recapture that atmosphere with a powerful, haunting show full of sound, lyrics, and emotion. This is a unique show that blurs the lines between concert and performance art.
