Soul

Marlon Pichel may have been born in Rotterdam, but his soul lies somewhere in the Mississippi Delta. Inspired by big names like Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett, this singing drummer breathes new life into sixties soul. With his vintage drum sound, raw vocals, and seven-piece band—all soul beasts in suits—he makes it feel like time has stood still. And that's the only thing that stands still.

There are people born for the stage, and Pichel is one of them. He first hit the stage at age nine (!), and he's been a constant presence ever since. The Netherlands was first truly introduced to Pichel's powerful soul voice during The Voice, and things took off from there. He signed with Danny Vera's label, performed on RTL Late Night and VPRO On Stage, and became a favorite of Radio Veronica and 538.

During a sold-out club tour, he earned his nickname as "the rising king of rock & soul." On Friday, March 13, he'll live up to that reputation once again with a show of improvisation, musical highlights, and vintage soul as it was once meant to be.
