Funk and soul sensation Michelle David & The True-Tones is back at LantarenVenster with music from the new album Soul Woman. Just like previous times, the roof will be blown off!

Searching for the roots of rhythm & blues, rock-and-roll, and soul, musicians Onno Smit and Paul Willemsen were captivated by the pure energy of this music. They decided to create their own variant. Both gentlemen, seasoned with their bands Beans & Fatback and Lefties Soul Connection, found in American Michelle David the singer for their quest for the birthplace of soul.

Michelle David was born in North Carolina and grew up in New York. She has been singing in church since she was four and was already on stage a year later with her first gospel group: The Mission of Love. She carries soul on her tongue and in her heart. In venues, churches, and at festivals, the roof comes off at David's exhilarating performances. Michelle David & The True-Tones allow you to feel and experience the power of gospel and soul. Their music takes you from Mali in West Africa, through the Caribbean to New Orleans, and further to the Mississippi Delta Blues.
