In 2023, Milan was selected to be part of De Twintigers , a selection of ten young, promising musicians made by Radio Klara. For some time now, Verbist has been playing with a rhythm section consisting of Toon Rumen (2001) on double bass and Jens Meijer (1996) on drums.
In 2025, after an extensive series of concerts, Verbist and his trio recorded the album Time Change , which was released later that year on the American label Origin Records. The repertoire ranges from Milan's own atmospheric yet swinging compositions to works by Gary Peacock, J.S. Bach, and Ornette Coleman.
