Nana Benz du Togo

Nana Benz du Togo is a five-member formation from Togo that weaves ceremonial voodoo, electro and soul into a hypnotising and rhythmic experience. Rooted in Togolese voodoo culture and driven by feminist and ecological themes, they make music that is both powerful and spiritual. With DIY instruments – such as basslines from PVC pipes and a drum kit made from recycled materials – they create a raw, danceable sound that puts the audience into a trance. Their singing is in English, French and Mina, and draws on voodoo bowls and rhythms. After their debut album 'AGO' (2023) and two European tours, their second album 'SÉ NAM' ("understand me") appears on 20 June. Nana Benz honours the past, but looks ahead, with a sound that connects earth, spirit and the dance floor.
