Noise rock and experimental postpunk with Arabic influences.
Prostitute is an experimental post-punk and noise rock band from Michigan, known for their uncompromising sound and intense live shows. With influences from Arabic music, industrial, and noise, they create a raw and hypnotic sound that is both chaotic and thoughtful. During the last edition of Le Guess Who?, the band played a sold-out show at EKKO as one of the highlights of the festival. Shortly thereafter, their debut album 'Attempted Martyr' was released, which quickly became a cult favorite.
For their upcoming second album, Prostitute deepens their sound with more electronic and Arabic dance influences. New tracks weave together dabke rhythms, Arabic melodies, and industrial synths, inspired by current developments in Gaza and Lebanon, among others, while the band's signature, anarchistic intensity remains fully intact.
