Quest Master is the solo project of an Australian musician who is active within the dungeon-synth scene, an underground genre that originates from black metal, ambient and early electronic music. The focus is not on songs or singing, but on atmosphere: music that sounds like a soundtrack for a fantasy world, game or story. Live it feels like a soundtrack for a game that only exists this evening. And on Sunday 3 May 2026 Quest Master brings his imaginative universe to Patronaat.

Since his first releases at the end of the 2010s, Quest Master has built a fixed place within the international dungeon-synth and fantasy-ambient scene. He released multiple albums and increasingly plays his music live, which long was unusual within this genre. Live he translates his studio work into an intimate, concentrated listening experience in which image and imagination play a large role.

Dungeon synth is strongly inspired by tabletop and RPG culture (such as Dungeons & Dragons), medieval fantasy and video games from the 80s and 90s. Quest Master mainly uses synthesizers to build melodies and layers that feel both nostalgic and dreamy. His work is consciously narrative: albums and tracks feel like chapters within one larger universe.
