RAUW
Line-up: The Ensemble Of Cultural Approximation • QUANZA • VAAGUE
Eclectic evening full of boundless, adventurous music
On Saturday, May 23, RAUW returns to Rotown. With the shroombia of The Ensemble Of Cultural Approximation (T.E.C.A.), the black psychedelica of QUANZA, and the Belgian futuristic grooves of VAAGUE, there's plenty of excitement to discover once again. Danceable, adventurous, and above all unmistakably RAUW!
The Ensemble Of Cultural Approximation - aka T.E.C.A. - is an unconventional name for an unconventional band. Drop a coin into this quirky jukebox and you'll be catapulted in an instant to a random place somewhere in the world where temperatures soar above 25 degrees and the rhythms demand that you move. T.E.C.A. is not just a band. It's the sound of shroombia!
Afro-Surinamese artist QUANZA refuses to be boxed in by genres. With raw, unrestrained energy, he forges black psychedelic rock and hip-hop into a sizzling, futuristic sound. Armed with a guitar and a killer band, this love child of Jimi Hendrix and N.E.R.D. sets every stage ablaze. QUANZA has already received airplay on BBC Radio 1 and was one of the standout acts at last year's ESNS. Now it's RAUW's turn!
VAAGUE is the alter ego of Brussels-based drummer and producer Antoine Pierre. Live, he transforms into a one-man orchestra where drums, synthesizers, and real-time sampling merge in unpredictable ways. No rigid loops, but a constant, dynamic dialogue between human and machine. Drum and bass, ambient soundscapes, and hypnotic club rhythms inspired by Squarepusher, Flying Lotus, and Thom Yorke - yet above all unmistakably VAAGUE. Get ready for an immersive musical trip!
