For the 13th edition of Red Light Jazz, we welcome Bitterzoet as the new venue and none other than the sensational live band Arp Frique & The Family.

What began in a Caribbean restaurant in Rotterdam has grown into a rich and unique musical universe. Inspired by influences from Suriname, Curaçao, Morocco, and India, among others, musician, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Niels Nieuborg, better known as Arp Frique, has developed a sound that is both warm and energetic. It is a mix of disco, funk, and worldly rhythms, with influences reminiscent of New York clubs, yet always with its own colorful signature.

In the studio, Arp Frique builds his music layer by layer. On stage, that work takes on a new dimension. Together with his 'Family'—a collective of experienced musicians from the Surinamese-Dutch-Cape Verdean scene—a live show emerges that revolves around interplay, energy, and experience.
