The world’s best Bob Marley tribute band is celebrating 20 years! For two decades, the Rootsriders have traveled the world to honor the king of reggae. De Helling has become a staple stopover in that time. This will be their fifth show at our venue.

It all began in 2006 when a group of top musicians decided to organize a concert at the Melkweg in honor of Bob Marley’s 25th death anniversary. The venue sold out completely, setting the standard for the next twenty years. Two decades of highlights, such as a halftime show during the World Cup final in Johannesburg, a finalist spot in the SBS6 program The Tribute, and a sold-out Ziggo Dome.

You can see that these are top-notch musicians. Notable former band members include Giovanca, Shirma Rouse, and former Wailers frontman Mitchell Brunings. On May 29, they will shine together, bringing Bob Marley, themselves, and you into a Jamaican sunshine, just as only the Rootsriders can. A premium tribute show that is bursting with joy and, of course, the golden tunes of the King of Reggae. So let’s get together and feel alright!

Our concerts are accessible for all ages. We do recommend that those under 14 come accompanied by an adult. For club nights, the minimum age is 18 unless otherwise stated.

De Helling is wheelchair accessible, but unfortunately not via the main entrance. If you wish to visit as a wheelchair user, we will open a side door that is wheelchair accessible. Once inside, De Helling is completely level and has a wheelchair-accessible toilet.
