"Why does Eminem's nephew have bars?" Last summer, rapper Ryan Oakes went viral. Thanks to a clever TikTok video, half the internet suddenly thought he was Eminem's nephew. Of course, it turned out to be completely false. But the confusion is understandable. Oakes considers Eminem his biggest hero, and with his biting flow and bleached-blonde haircut, he does indeed resemble Slim Shady. Oh yeah, and yes: he has bars.

He's had plenty of that his whole life. As a teenager, Oakes discovered his exceptional talent for freestyle rapping and decided to launch a career as an independent artist.
