SELFIE OF THE SOUL – NDSM XPO XVIII

Selfie van de Ziel is art without a filter. In this exhibition, artists present work that transcends the polished facades of social media. Where digital platforms often display a carefully constructed image that meets expectations and ideals, these makers opt for openness. They show doubt and vulnerability, but also strength, individuality, and a literally self-aware gaze.

The exhibition consists of a series of solo presentations, in which a different side of the soul becomes visible each time. In a society that is becoming increasingly polarized and pigeonholing people, Selfie van de Ziel seeks art that reveals the person behind the mask. What happens when we do not approach each other as a group or role, but truly meet each other as individuals?

In Part III, six artists reveal their unfiltered inner world in solo presentations. Through installations, films, paintings, photographs, and more, you experience both snapshots and the continuous movement of the soul. Themes such as balance and imbalance, shamelessness, the unfinished, and the transience of existence come together in these intimate presentations. The artists share their deepest layers and personal perspectives—everything flows, everything changes.

Selfie of the Soul III takes you into a fluid world and invites you to find your own place: with who you want to be and who you truly are.
