Seppuku Pistols was born in the aftermath of Japan's 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster. What started as a protest performance by four former punk musicians has grown into a collective of around 30 members spread across Japan.

Their sound blends centuries old Japanese folk traditions with the raw energy and attitude of a punk show. Using taiko drums, shamisen, bamboo flutes, gongs and other traditional instruments, Seppuku Pistols create loud, hypnotic and intensely physical performances that can turn a festival, a club or a public square into one big celebration.

Beyond the stage, the members dedicate themselves to preserving traditional Japanese crafts, farming, folklore and local culture. That deep connection to Japan's cultural heritage, combined with an uncompromising DIY spirit, makes Seppuku Pistols one of the country's most distinctive and unforgettable live acts.
