Sergio Sayeg, better known as Sessa, is fascinated by the chaos of music and the unexpected turns in the creative process. Born in São Paulo and raised in New York, he has been building his own musical universe since his debut in 2019. Sessa's songs are sung in Portuguese, with sensually written lyrics and sultry melodies. However, his music receives a deliberately minimalist treatment that is rare in contemporary Brazilian music and more reminiscent of the austerity of Leonard Cohen, with influences from rock, jazz, tropicalia, and soul. On his latest album 'Pequena Vertigem de Amor,' which appears in November, Sessa sounds fresh and innovative again: electric piano, drum machine, and wah-wah guitar add new colors to his familiar vocal and acoustic sound. Thematically, the album is a celebration of fatherhood and personal growth, a new way of dealing with time and rediscovering the place of music in his life.
