Experimental quartet slowblink revisit their songs with an extended ensemble of strings and winds. slowblink extracts beauty from noise-infused guitars, feedback hums and extended techniques and derives musicality from drifting cassette players, fm radios and sampled recordings. Together these elements form a bedrock for simple vocal melodies, luscious string arrangements and analogue synth textures. slowblink is noise music for soft people.

Composer-performer Seamus Cater performs his solo set on rhodes piano and voice. Playing keyboards and ‘duet concertina’, sometimes tuned in Just Intonation, he searches for resonant connections between subject and musical material. His songs are noted for conceptual narratives, often reinforced by musical parallels.

Hosted in the beautiful Tempel Amsterdam, the night will showcase experimental songwriting, where earnest melodycism meets abrasive noise and jagged musical texture.
