Multidisciplinary hip-hop powerhouse from Bijlmer is back, and closer than ever

GRCY, Nnelg, Loopey, and Ray Fuego: a group of high school dropouts from the Bijlmer, raised by hip-hop and driven by creativity—that's how SMIB started in 2014. Since then, it's grown into an entire universe: rap, photography, clothing, festivals, parties, and even its own dictionary: SMIB has become a way of life. A creative powerhouse, inspired by the DIY culture of hip-hop. Everything they do is self-taught, and they do it out of love for those four letters: SMIB.

After several years of sidequests and solo success, the four rappers reunited in 2025 and hit the studio. The result? "Eendracht Maeckt Maght"—and you can definitely say that. Ray Fuego already said it last year: "SMIB is truly back, and this is the golden age." The new (and first proper) SMIB album boasts a laundry list of major features from the Dutch scene (Milolaathetlukken, Gino Pietermaai, Ronnie Flex) but sounds more consistent than ever.
