Sophia Stel, born in Victoria, British Columbia, and shaped by her years in Vancouver, found an enthusiastic fan base with her 2024 debut EP, "Object Permanence," a vulnerable collection of genre-bending tracks fueled by her alto voice. You might recognize her from "I'll Take It," which became the soundtrack on TikTok for everything from brutally honest relationship advice to #hopecore friendship content. A Mura Masa edit was released in 2026. She knows how to follow her intuition and buck the flow of online trends, setting them instead of following them.

Her latest EP, "How to Win At Solitaire," is her most personal and profound music yet. It's a sonic blend of sleepy shoegaze, electronic pop, and rave-inspired beats. She also revisited an instrument she's loved since childhood: the electric guitar. By pushing the boundaries of contemporary music, she's simultaneously crafting her own unique, post-genre sound.
