A celebration of the rich Irish heritage
Synthese is a musical journey of discovery through the stories and sounds of heritage at unconventional locations in Utrecht. On May 2, Synthese presents a celebration of rich Irish heritage: the music, the folklore, the landscapes, and the language. The event, curated by Irish Niamh Leneghan (Synthese/Stranded FM), brings musicians from Ireland and Utrecht together to represent and celebrate the close-knit Irish diaspora. From the Kapitaal print workshop, each artist shapes the musical landscape of the green island in their own unique way.

Olan Monk w/ Risteárd O'Haodha
The Irish artist Olan Monk recently released his album 'Songs for Nothing' on the renowned label AD 93. They draw inspiration from Old Irish Sean-nós singing, old Irish folk songs, and Sinéad O'Connor. For this evening, Monk brings along cellist Risteárd O'Haodha to enrich the special parts.

Natalia Beylis
From rural Ireland, Natalia Beylis's work reflects the environment in which she lives: creaking trees, farm animals, vocal samples from conversations with neighbors, the northwest wind, and rain. Lots of rain. Her compositions and improvisations are a mix of tape collages, everyday sounds, ethereal mandola mantras, and dreamy piano journeys.

EDÓS
With roots on both sides of the Mediterranean and an interest in Irish folk traditions, EDÓS creates his own perspective on Irish music history. EDÓS is a curator at Stranded FM and organizer of Keep it Moving. He has previously been heard on NTS.

Puzzy Wrangler (DJ aftershow)
With two USBs and one shared vision, Puzzy Wrangler sets the Dublin night scene on edge. From UK bass to eclectic experiments, Puzzy Wrangler's bass-heavy euphoria with high BPM and very juicy vocals manages to fill every dance floor.
