Live: Talma, Lotterman and Dee
Two songwriters and a poet, who find each other in their love for the word.
Meindert Talma grew up in the Frisian village of Surhuisterveen, where he took organ lessons for many years with the organist of the Reformed Church. After obtaining his Church Organ B diploma, he decided to launch his music career. He has since released 20 albums, all on the renowned Excelsior Recordings label. His new CD/LP, "Celluloid Illusions," will be released in April 2026, featuring songs about
Dutch actors and directors from the 1960s.
“For many years one of the Netherlands’ most powerful and valuable lyricists, performers and artists”
is how Lucky Fonz III describes Rotterdam resident Mark Lotterman , who returned in 2024 with idiosyncratic Dutch-language music after a 6-year break during which he worked in youth care. Accessible and profound, humorous and sad, realistic and absurd. Recognizable characters in Dutch drama. His third Dutch-language album in 2 years will be released in April 2026: “Indien later, dan ook nu” (If later, then also now).
Daniel Dee was Rotterdam's city poet, published more than ten collections, wrote two novels, published in various magazines, was featured as house poet on KINK FM, and appeared on stages such as Lowlands and Poetry International.
A new collection will be published in April 2026, in which each poem ends with Emily Dickinson's final words: "I must go inside, the fog is lifting." A hard worker indeed, with a love of absurd detail and frighteningly honest self-examination.
