The Brazilian quartet Terno Rei moves between dream pop, post-punk, and alternative rock, with dreamy guitars, warm synthesizers, and melancholic Portuguese lyrics. Terno Rei's music exudes an atmosphere reminiscent of the eighties and nineties, yet sounds surprisingly contemporary. On their fifth album, Nenhuma Estrela (2025), the band demonstrates how far they've come since their formation in São Paulo in 2010. The introspective songs balance between melancholy and hope, with refined melodies and subtle, almost cinematic arrangements.
