Dutch prog metal band Textures called it quits in 2017, after sixteen years, five albums, and 330,000 kilometers on the road from Etten-Leur via Canada, Russia, and the US to New Delhi. Their fifth album, Phenotype, seemed to be their last, but in 2024 the six-piece gloriously resurrected at the major summer metal festivals. In early 2026, the new album, Genotype, was released, on which Textures proves they're still as hard-hitting as ever, but also offers room for more melodic vocals, especially on the prize track "At The Edge Of Winter" (a duet with former Delain singer Charlotte Wessels). Welcome back!
