Dutch prog metal band Textures called it quits in 2017, after sixteen years, five albums, and 330,000 kilometers on the road from Etten-Leur via Canada, Russia, and the US to New Delhi. Their fifth album, Phenotype, seemed to be their last, but in 2024 the six-piece gloriously resurrected at the major summer metal festivals. In early 2026, the new album, Genotype, was released, on which Textures proves they're still as hard-hitting as ever, but also offers room for more melodic vocals, especially on the prize track "At The Edge Of Winter" (a duet with former Delain singer Charlotte Wessels).
