The Franklin Electric revolves around singer-songwriter John Matte, who started this project as a kind of personal therapy – the lyrics often deal with mental health. Musically the band stands out for their strong, subtly arranged songs with vocal melodies that stick in your head after one listen. Between much touring, Matte manages to regularly release new music: in 2025 The Franklin Electric released their sixth album Victory Songs.
