The Scottish post-punk band The Twilight Sad makes, as their name suggests, a dark-melancholic mix of shoegaze and indie rock. Influences such as Arab Strap, Leonard Cohen and Cabaret Voltaire are audible – singer James Graham makes no effort to hide his Scottish accent, which makes the band's sound even more distinctive. Their fourth album Nobody Wants To Be Here And Nobody Wants To Leave (2014) attracted the attention of Robert Smith (The Cure), who then took The Twilight Sad on The Cure's 2016 world tour. The sixth album is in the making!
